Nextdoor
Can You Have Two Nextdoor Accounts and Stay Signed In to Both?
Can you stay signed in to more than one Nextdoor account at the same time?
Yes, if the accounts are a personal neighbor account and a business account. According to the Nextdoor Business Center (read 3 October 2026), connecting a business account to your personal account lets you switch between the two without having to log out, and a separate business account keeps the two logins apart. The pages read for this guide describe no second personal neighbor account for the same person, so this guide does not show a way to create one.
Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Nextdoor's rules. The sections below explain what each set-up means in practice, the steps Nextdoor gives for linking, and how to keep the logins apart on one computer.
What "more than one account" means on Nextdoor
Nextdoor's developer documentation names three kinds of profile: Neighbor, Business and Public Agency. Around them sit Ads Manager and agency staff profiles, which have their own sign-in steps.
| Set-up | What Nextdoor says | On one computer |
|---|---|---|
| Neighbor account with a linked Business Page | The Business Center blog (updated 26 July 2023) says you can add your Business Page to your neighbor account and toggle between the two experiences with one account login | One login and one session; use Nextdoor's own switch |
| Separate business account | The same post says a separate business account, with a different email from your neighbor account, suits several people managing the business presence | Two logins; give each its own browser profile if you want both open |
| Another Business Page under one business account | The Business Center FAQ says to sign in with the existing business account email and password | Sign in with the business login, not the personal one |
| Ads Manager (sign-up at ads.nextdoor.com) | An administrator invites each user by email, and the invited person can create a login or use existing Nextdoor credentials | One more sign-in, best kept with the business side |
| Public agency page | Administrators invite staff with Add Staff, and each person receives a verification email to create their own profile | One profile per person, never one shared login |
How to link a Business Page to your personal account, step by step
Nextdoor's FAQ "How to join Nextdoor as a business" describes a web sign-up page and covers both routes. This is a paraphrase of its steps:
- Confirm you may claim the page. Nextdoor says you must be an owner, employee or other authorised representative of the business.
- Go to business.nextdoor.com/local and choose Sign up for Free or Claim Your Free Business Page.
- To link the page to your personal account, sign in with your personal account email and password. To keep it separate, choose Sign Up under the green login button instead.
- Create an account, or sign in to an existing one, to manage the new Business Page.
- To add another Business Page later, sign in with the existing business account email and password.
One caution from the same FAQ: Nextdoor says not to connect your personal account to your business account if you plan to share the business login with authorised employees. In that case a separate business account is the cleaner choice.
Your options for keeping logins apart on one computer
Chrome Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation says a profile's data includes history, bookmarks and cookies. The Nextdoor pages read for this guide do not describe how its sign-in behaves when a second account signs in inside the same browser profile, so the careful route is one profile per separate login.
| Option | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Nextdoor's own switch for linked accounts | One person with a personal and a business identity | Nextdoor advises against linking if the business login will be shared with employees |
| One Chrome profile per login | Separate business accounts, Ads Manager, colleagues sharing a PC | Name every profile; Chrome Help notes that anyone using the device can switch to its other profiles |
| Firefox containers | Several logins to the same site in one window | Mozilla says history, bookmarks and saved passwords are not separated between containers |
| Signing out and in | Occasional use of a shared machine | Easy to post from the wrong account |
The Chrome steps are in separate browser profiles for Nextdoor. What a browser profile is explains the idea, and private windows compared with profiles and VPNs covers the other common shortcut.
Limits and details worth knowing
| Topic | What Nextdoor's pages say | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Who may claim a Business Page | An owner, employee or other authorised representative of the business | Business Center FAQ |
| Cost of claiming and posting | The August 2026 post calls both free | Nextdoor blog, 19 August 2026 |
| Switching between personal and business | Possible once the accounts are connected; the surface is not stated | Business Center FAQ |
| Adding users in Ads Manager | Only administrators of the ad account can do it | Ads Manager page |
| A second personal neighbor account | Not described on the pages read | None |
If you land in the wrong account
| What happens | What Nextdoor says | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You post about your business from your personal account | Promoting a business, service or paid opportunity must be done from a free Business Page. A flagged post stays up with a notice, and fewer neighbors see it | Check which account is showing before you post, and read Nextdoor's self-promotion policy |
| An Ads Manager invitation will not work | Invitation problems are often caused by an email already linked to another Nextdoor Ads account | Ask your administrator to invite the email you actually log in with, and open the link in the right browser profile |
| A colleague needs to help manage the page | Nextdoor points to a separate business account for several managers, invitations for Ads Manager and Add Staff for agency pages | Never hand over your personal login |
| You wanted a second personal account | The pages read describe none | Read Nextdoor's Member Agreement and Help Center before creating one |
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so a personal login, a business login and an Ads Manager login can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. It does not change what Nextdoor allows. Use it only with accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Nextdoor's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Nextdoor.
