Can You Be Logged In to Two LinkedIn Accounts at Once on One Computer?

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 5 min read

Can you stay signed in to two LinkedIn accounts at the same time?

For two personal profiles, no, because LinkedIn's own rules allow one per person. Section 2.1 of the User Agreement (the version effective 3 November 2025) lists, among the conditions for using the Services, that you will only have one LinkedIn account, which must be in your real name. The Help Center page on signing up adds that creating multiple profiles is not allowed, and that company names and pseudonyms can't be used as a name.

The Help Center pages on signing in and out that were read for this guide (3 October 2026) describe a single account signing in on desktop or mobile. None of them describes an add-account switcher for personal profiles, so the better question is what "several accounts" means in your case.

What "several accounts" can legitimately mean

Your situationWhat LinkedIn's pages sayWhere it applies
A second personal profile "for work"Not allowed: one account per member, in your real nameUser Agreement 2.1; sign-up Help page
An accidental duplicateCan be merged through support, or closedHelp: Merge or close duplicate accounts
Another email addressSeveral addresses can be added to one account, and any of them can be used to sign inDesktop: Settings & Privacy, Sign in & security, Email addresses
A company or school PageSign in with your own profile that has admin access, then open the Page from the My pages paneDesktop web
Several ad accountsSwitch from the ad account name in Campaign Manager; Business Manager accounts from the profile image menuCampaign Manager
Individual Learning subscription plus a group licenceSwitch accounts from the Me menuLinkedIn Learning
More than one Recruiter contractOne contract at a time; Change contract works without signing outRecruiter

The last four rows all stay on one LinkedIn login: Pages, ad accounts and paid seats attach to your own profile through roles or product switchers. The Page roles guide covers who can do what, and agencies handling client ad accounts can read the client ad accounts guide.

How the documented switches work on desktop

For ad accounts in Campaign Manager:

  1. Open Campaign Manager.
  2. If an ad account belongs to a Business Manager, click your profile image or the Business Manager logo at the top right and choose the right Business Manager account.
  3. Click the ad account name at the top left and pick the account from the dropdown.

LinkedIn notes that only ad accounts owned by the same Business Manager appear in that list, and ad accounts without a Business Manager show up when you select your profile.

  • LinkedIn Learning. If you hold both an individual subscription and a group licence, click Me at the top right of the Learning homepage and choose an account under Switch Accounts. A new window opens for it.
  • Recruiter. You can open only one contract at a time, even if your company granted you several. Hover over your profile picture on the Recruiter homepage, choose Change contract, then Select next to the one you want. LinkedIn says this needs no sign-out, and that Recruiter and your personal account can be open in two tabs or windows together.

What a shared browser does to sign-ins

LinkedIn's Cookie Policy says it uses cookies to recognise you, and that a persistent cookie lets you return without signing in again. Chromium's documentation lists cookies among the data stored per browser profile, so everything inside one profile shares one set of sign-in state.

Three LinkedIn features make that visible on a shared computer:

  • Keep me logged in signs you in on trusted browsers without retyping your username. LinkedIn says it exists only on the desktop experience, works on up to five devices, and is not available if two-factor authentication is on.
  • Automatic sign-in. After you sign out you may be signed back in from a link in a LinkedIn email, if you have signed in on that device before.
  • Where you're signed in lists your active sessions.

If two people alternate in one profile they inherit each other's state. Give each person a separate profile instead, as the separate browser profiles guide shows. If you are new to the idea, start with what a browser profile is.

If it doesn't work

  • You found two accounts that are both yours. Merging goes through LinkedIn support, and the Help Center says you need both logins and both profile URLs. Accounts with zero connections or more than 30k connections can't be merged, and where applicable Premium, job postings and ad campaigns must be cancelled first. Profile content, recommendations, endorsements, saved articles, group memberships and pending invitations are not merged, and InMail credits are lost. If one of the two has no connections, the page describes closing it instead: on desktop open Me, Settings & Privacy, then Change next to Close account.
  • An error says your email is already in use. The Help Center says the address belongs to an existing account. Choose Sign in, or Forgot password, rather than Join now, which LinkedIn warns may create a duplicate.
  • You keep being asked to sign in. Read why LinkedIn keeps logging you out.
  • Someone asks you to sign in as a colleague. Don't. The User Agreement says not to share or transfer your account. Ask for a role on the Page or ad account instead, and see what LinkedIn's rules say.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. That suits colleagues who each have their own LinkedIn account on one shared computer. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. ADSSPEED does not change what LinkedIn allows: one personal account per member remains the rule. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with LinkedIn.

Frequently asked questions

Can you have two LinkedIn accounts?

Not as two personal profiles. According to LinkedIn's User Agreement (effective 3 November 2025, read 3 October 2026), you agree to have only one LinkedIn account, which must be in your real name, and the Help Center page on joining says creating multiple profiles is not allowed. Business needs are met with Pages and roles instead.

Can you have multiple LinkedIn accounts with the same email?

The pages read describe an email address as belonging to one existing account: the Help Center says an error that the email is already in use means the address is assigned to an existing LinkedIn account. If you need more than one address on your own account, LinkedIn lets you add several and sign in with any of them.

How do I switch LinkedIn accounts without logging out?

For personal profiles the Help Center pages read describe no switcher, because each member has one account. LinkedIn does document switching inside some products on desktop: Campaign Manager ad accounts and Business Manager accounts, LinkedIn Learning accounts, and Recruiter contracts, all under your one login.

Can I merge two LinkedIn accounts?

Yes, through LinkedIn support and with conditions. The Help Center says you need the login details and profile URLs of both accounts, that accounts with zero connections or more than 30k connections can't be merged, that where applicable Premium, job postings and ad campaigns must be cancelled first, and that InMail credits are lost. Profile content and recommendations are not merged.

How do I log in to multiple LinkedIn accounts on one computer?

LinkedIn allows one personal account per member, so this applies to different people's accounts, such as colleagues sharing a PC. Each person signs in with their own account, ideally in their own browser profile, and nobody shares or transfers a login. Company access comes through Page, ad account and Business Manager roles, which you use with your own account.
