Two Patreon Accounts, One PC: Setting Up Separate Chrome or Edge Profiles

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 6 min read

How do you keep two Patreon accounts apart on one PC?

Give each account its own browser profile and sign in to only one Patreon account in it. A Chrome profile keeps bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium keeps profile data, cookies included, in a folder of its own for each profile, so a sign-in in one profile does not show up in another. Edge profiles likewise keep browsing history, bookmarks and other data apart, and Firefox containers separate cookies and site storage inside one window.

That suits Patreon. According to its Help Center (read 3 October 2026), each account needs its own email address and the pages read describe no account switcher. A profile gives each account a sign-in of its own; it does not change your computer, your connection or Patreon's rules. Patreon's Browser support page recommends the latest Chrome, Safari or Edge on desktop, so Chrome and Edge profiles are the natural choice. Read what a browser profile is first if the term is new.

What does a profile keep apart on Patreon, and what does it not?

ItemSeparate between two profiles? What it means for Patreon
Cookies and sign-in stateYesEach profile keeps its own Patreon login, so two accounts can stay open together
Bookmarks and historyYesNothing browsed in one account shows up in the other
Saved passwordsYes, in ChromeA password manager inside a profile offers only that profile's logins
The email inboxNoLogin codes and device links still go to each account's own address
The computer and internet connectionNoSame for every profile; Patreon's CAPTCHA page lists an IP address that hackers used before, bots on your network and proxies among its causes
Patreon's rulesNoThey apply to every account however it is opened

Sources are the Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Mozilla and Patreon pages listed below. How private windows and VPNs differ from profiles is covered in the comparison guide.

Set it up in Chrome or Edge

  1. Create the profile. In Chrome, select Profile at the top right, then Add Chrome profile, and choose a name, photo and colour scheme. In Edge, select the profile icon at the upper right, choose Manage profile settings, then Add profile, then Add; the page then offers to sign in and sync your data.
  2. Decide on syncing. Chrome says signing in with a Google Account in the profile lets you save bookmarks, passwords and settings to that account and use them on other devices. For client work, think about whose Google Account that should be.
  3. Name and colour it so you never open the wrong one. A pattern is suggested below.
  4. Log in to Patreon at patreon.com in that profile, the way that account was created: email and password, a Continue with Google, Facebook or Apple button, or the emailed code on a passwordless account.
  5. Finish any check on this computer. The Help Center says to verify on the same device you are logging in on and to use the newest link.
  6. Confirm the account. In Member view, Settings opens a Basics page that shows the account email.
  7. Repeat for each account in its own profile. Do not log in to a second account in the same profile.

What is Patreon-specific about it?

  • A fresh code per login. Passwordless accounts get a new emailed code each time they log in, so two accounts mean two inboxes. Opening each account's webmail in its own profile keeps the code and the login in one place.
  • The Google and Facebook trap. The Help Center says signing in with Google or Facebook can create a second account without you noticing. If a profile is signed in to a Google account other than the one used at sign-up, pressing Continue with Google there could create a second Patreon account, so use the same method every time and note it in the profile name.
  • Extensions. Patreon's CAPTCHA page lists NoScript, ad blockers and security add-ons among the things that can trigger repeated CAPTCHAs, and suggests disabling extensions when sign-in misbehaves. Check which extensions your browser has installed.
  • Website-only settings. The Help Center says you cannot set up two-factor authentication or change your password in the Patreon app, so do both in the profile on desktop.
  • Connected Discord. The Help Center says switching the Discord account linked to Patreon may need your cache and cookies cleared first. Do the Connect step in the profile that holds the right Discord login.

Naming, hand-over and backups

Naming. Put the role first, then the account email, then the owner, for example Creator / studio@example.com / Linh, and give each client a colour.

Hand-over. The Terms hold you responsible for whatever happens while anyone is logged in to your account, so do not pass a logged-in profile to a helper. Add them as a teammate instead, as the team access guide explains. If a profile signed in to your own account is being given up, log out in it at patreon.com/logout first, then delete it (in Chrome: Profile, Manage Chrome profiles, More, Delete; in Edge: the ellipsis next to the profile, then Remove).

Backups. Two different things need saving:

  • The account's data. On desktop, a creator can download the audience list as a CSV from Creator studio, then Audience. Payout history sits on the Documents tab of the Payouts page, which only the Team Lead can open.
  • The profile folder. Chromium says each profile is a subfolder of the user data directory, which holds history, bookmarks and cookies; on Windows the Chrome default is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data. Treat any copy like a password, because it holds sign-in cookies.

When ordinary profiles are not enough

SignalWhy it hurtsWhat helps
More than a handful of accountsNames and colours stop being enough, and posting from the wrong account becomes easyA tool that opens, stops and organises profiles in bulk
Several people use one computerProfile folders hold sign-in cookies, and the Terms make you answer for who is signed inSeparate operating-system users, or Team Account logins instead of shared profiles
A task needs the phone appPatreon's app page lists member features such as the Home feed and Play tab in the iOS and Android apps but not on desktopAn Android phone profile

No setup changes what Patreon's rules allow or how it treats an account.

If a profile misbehaves

  • You are asked to verify every time you open it. Check whether the browser clears cookies on exit, then read why Patreon keeps asking you to verify a device.
  • The wrong account is in the wrong profile. Log out at patreon.com/logout, log in with the right email and rename the profile.
  • A second account appeared by accident. Read the multi-login guide; Patreon cannot merge accounts.
  • CAPTCHAs keep returning. Follow the Help Center's steps: disable extensions, try another browser, disconnect a VPN while signing in.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles, for the point where Chrome or Edge profiles get hard to keep track of. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and the data stays on your own computer. Android phone profiles, each with its own device configuration, run mobile apps on a PC. Setup is in installing ADSSPEED on Windows. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Patreon.

Frequently asked questions

How do I log in to two Patreon accounts on the same computer?

Patreon's pages describe no account switcher, so give each account its own Chrome or Edge profile and sign in to one account per profile. Firefox containers do a similar job inside one window, although Patreon's Browser support page lists no Firefox.

Do separate Chrome profiles keep Patreon logins apart?

For the sign-in itself, yes: Chromium's documentation says profile data such as history, bookmarks and cookies lives in a subfolder for each profile, so a login in one profile does not appear in another. Profiles do not change the computer or the connection, which stay the same for every profile.

The Patreon verification link opened in the wrong browser. What now?

The Help Center says to verify on the same device you are logging in on and to use the newest link, and that logging in again for a fresh link means waiting up to 15 minutes. Open the link in the profile where you started the sign-in, or ask for a new one there.

Can I use Firefox containers for several Patreon accounts?

Mozilla describes containers as keeping cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB and caches apart, with history and bookmarks not separated. Two accounts can sit in two container tabs, but Patreon's Browser support page lists no Firefox, so check that sign-in behaves as you expect.

How do I back up a Patreon account?

A copy of the browser profile folder is not a backup of the account. On desktop a creator can download the audience list as a CSV from Creator studio, then Audience, and payout history sits on the Documents tab of the Payouts page, which only the Team Lead can open.

How do I remove a Patreon account from a browser profile I no longer use?

Log out in that profile at patreon.com/logout, then delete the profile through Chrome's Manage Chrome profiles page. Deleting a profile does not delete the Patreon account, which has its own deletion route through the Privacy Center.

Does a separate browser profile change how Patreon treats my account?

No. A profile only separates data on your computer, such as cookies and settings. Patreon's Terms, Community Guidelines and Security Policy apply to every account however it is opened, and nothing about a profile promises how an account will be treated.
