Can You Log In to Two Reddit Accounts at Once on the Same Computer?

Can you stay signed in to two Reddit accounts on one computer?

Reddit allows more than one account, but the Help Center pages read for this guide describe the Add account switcher only for the Reddit app on iOS and Android. For reddit.com, the page read on 3 October 2026 describes logging in and logging out, with nothing about a second account next to the first. On a desktop browser that leaves two practical routes: sign out and back in, or keep each account in its own browser profile so both stay signed in.

What the Help Center documents, surface by surface

WhereWhat the page describesWhat it does not say
reddit.com in a desktop browserClick Log In at the top right and choose a sign-in method. To leave, open the profile menu from your avatar and scroll to Log OutNothing about adding a second account beside the first
Reddit app on iOS and AndroidLong-press your avatar at the bottom right, tap Add account, then Log in. Log out with the icon beside your usernameNo number for how many accounts can be added
Creating accountsYou are welcome to create multiple accounts, and the same email address can verify themNo cap on how many accounts one person may own

Under the reddit.com steps the page adds a note: log out of your account if you use a shared device. The pages read describe reddit.com and the iOS and Android apps, not a separate desktop program, so this guide is about the website.

Where multi-account setups trip up

  • One email, several accounts. In the app, a login link goes to the most recently created account tied to that email and expires after 10 minutes. A password reset by email shows a screen where you pick which account to reset, and resetting a password logs you out on all devices.
  • Google or Apple sign-in. Each Google account or Apple ID can be linked to one Reddit account at a time. Start a new account before disconnecting the old link and Reddit logs you into the existing account instead. On reddit.com, open Account Settings, scroll to Connected Accounts and click Disconnect.
  • Codes and passkeys belong to one account. Reddit's two-factor page says the six-digit code applies when you log in with a password; with Google or Apple you set up two-factor authentication through them. Each Reddit account can have its own passkey.
  • Votes. The Help Center tells you not to use any of your accounts to vote on the same posts or comments. It calls that vote manipulation, a violation of the Reddit Rules.
  • A new account starts empty. The Help Center has a reddit.com procedure for copying the communities you joined from one account to another. You open your joined communities as a multireddit on old.reddit.com, copy its URL, log in to the new account, paste the URL and click join on each community.

Your options on a desktop

OptionWhat it keeps apartSuitsWatch for
Sign out and in again, one profileNothing: one browser, one set of cookies and saved loginsAn occasional second account used by one personCodes and password prompts every time
One browser profile per account (Chrome, Edge)Cookies, history, bookmarks, saved passwords and other settings of each profileAccounts that should stay open togetherMore windows to track; every profile still runs on the same computer and connection
Firefox containersCookies, localStorage, IndexedDB and caches per container, in one windowSeveral logins to one site in a single windowHistory and bookmarks stay shared
Private windowA temporary extra sessionA one-off look at a second accountNot a lasting setup

Chrome Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation lists cookies among the data a profile holds. Mozilla describes containers as separating cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB and caches, with logging in to several accounts on one site as a use case. If the idea is new, start with what a browser profile is. A private window is only a temporary session, as the comparison with VPNs and private browsing explains. The profiles guide covers the second row in full.

A quick path: the second account in its own Chrome profile

  1. In Chrome, click the profile icon at the top right and choose Add Chrome profile.
  2. Pick a name, photo and colour that tell you which Reddit account the profile is for.
  3. In the new profile, open reddit.com, click Log In and sign in with that account's own credentials.
  4. To change account later, click the profile icon and pick the other profile. Each one keeps its own login.

If the second account will not sign in

  1. Email and password give an error. Reddit's own advice is to enter your username and password instead of the email.
  2. A login link opens the wrong account. For an email shared by several accounts the link goes to the newest one, so sign in with the username.
  3. Continue with Google drops you into another account. That Google account or Apple ID is linked to a different Reddit account. Disconnect it there first.
  4. The authenticator code is rejected. Reddit's help suggests a backup code, a check that the authenticator app is current, and a check that your system time and time zone are correct. The sign-in checks guide covers the rest.
  5. Several people share one login. Reddit's security page lists sharing accounts among the common ways an account is compromised and says not to do it. The business guide shows the official routes instead.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED is a Windows and macOS desktop app for running many browser profiles. Every profile has its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so the accounts you manage can stay signed in next to each other instead of signing each other out. You can give a profile its own proxy, or assign one proxy to many profiles at once. Profiles open, stop and sort in bulk, and their data stays on your own computer. Android phone profiles, each with its own device configuration, run mobile apps such as the Reddit app from a PC. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Reddit and does not change Reddit's rules.

Frequently asked questions

Can you log into two Reddit accounts at once?

In the Reddit app on iOS and Android, yes: long-press your avatar, tap Add account, then Log in. For reddit.com, the Help Center describes logging in and out but no switcher, so a practical option is a separate browser profile for each account.

Can you have multiple Reddit accounts on the app?

Yes. Reddit's Help Center says that if you are already logged in to your main account in the app, you long-press your avatar at the bottom right, tap Add account and choose Log in. The same pop-up offers browsing anonymously or a login link.

Can you have multiple Reddit accounts under the same email?

Yes. Reddit's Help Center says you can create multiple accounts and use the same email address to verify them. With Google or Apple sign-in it is stricter: each Google account or Apple ID can be linked to only one Reddit account at a time.

How many accounts can you have on Reddit?

The Help Center pages read for this guide give no number. They say you are welcome to create multiple accounts and state no cap on how many you may own or stay logged in to at once, so reopen the page if a number matters to you.

How do you switch Reddit accounts on desktop?

Reddit's reddit.com instructions cover the Log In button and the Log Out entry in the avatar menu, and do not describe a switcher. On desktop you can log out and log in again, or keep each account in its own browser profile so both stay signed in.
