Can You Stay Logged In to Two Twitch Accounts on the Same Computer?
Can you be signed in to two Twitch accounts on one computer?
Twitch's Help Center (read 3 October 2026) describes one way to move between your accounts on the website: log out of the current one, then sign in again. It does not describe a list of accounts that stay signed in together on twitch.tv. A browser profile keeps its own cookies (Chromium's documentation lists cookies among the data a profile holds), so a Twitch sign-in made in one profile stays out of another. That is why two profiles can hold two accounts side by side, while switching inside one profile means logging out first.
| What you want | What Twitch's pages say | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Move between your accounts | Log out in settings, then sign in again | Follow the steps below |
| Create another account | Allowed if you follow the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines | Switch on the extra-account setting if you reuse an email |
| Keep two accounts open together | Not described in the pages read | Give each account its own browser profile |
| Find an account you forgot | An Account Recovery Tool lists accounts tied to an email or phone | Use it before creating anything new |
This guide covers twitch.tv in a desktop browser. Streaming software, consoles and TV apps are outside it.
How does Twitch let you have more than one account?
Twitch's Creating an Account page lets you open further accounts whenever you like, provided each one keeps to the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. For someone who only wants back into the first account, it adds that you probably do not need a second one. Two details decide how easy a second account is: the email address and the phone number.
Email. When you verify the email on an account, Twitch switches off creating further accounts with that address, which it describes as protection against abusive behaviour aimed at you. To reuse the address, open Settings from your profile picture at the top right, then look under Security and Privacy, in the Contact part, for Enable additional account creation (Email). Twitch says that turning it on lets you register a single additional account. The same page notes that sign-up with Google, Apple or Amazon does not support an email tied to several Twitch accounts, so the extra account uses ordinary sign-up with a username and password.
Phone. The Managing Your Phone Number page says you can add the same number to more than one Twitch account. You verify it on each one, nothing needs changing on the others, and it does not matter whether an account already using the number is active, disabled or deleted.
To create a second account on an email you already use:
- Sign in to the account whose verified email you want to reuse.
- Open Settings and turn on Enable additional account creation (Email).
- In a separate browser profile, or after logging out, sign up with a username and password and that email.
- Verify the new account as Twitch asks, then note its recovery email and phone number somewhere safe.
How do you switch accounts the way Twitch describes?
The Help page on signing up and logging in with Google, Apple or Amazon covers people whose Twitch accounts share one email. Its flow, as read on 3 October 2026:
- Sign in with your social login provider.
- Confirm your identity with the one-time code Twitch sends to your email.
- In the first linking session, choose which of your accounts to link. Twitch then logs you into it.
- From then on, signing in with the provider shows the multi-account picker, a page listing every Twitch account tied to that email, split into selectable accounts and already linked accounts.
- To switch, log out of the current account in settings and sign in with the provider again to return to the picker.
Accounts that use a username and password follow the same idea: log out, then sign in with the other account's details. Twitch adds that a password-based account is not linked automatically to an existing social login, even when the email matches.
If you cannot remember the other account's username, open twitch.tv/user/account-recovery, enter the email or choose a country code and enter the phone number, select Continue, then I Don't Know My Username. Twitch says it emails or texts you a list of every account linked to it. The pages read describe linking accounts to a social login provider; they do not describe merging two accounts into one.
What happens in one browser, and what are your options?
| Option | How it works | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Log out and sign in again | Twitch's own route | Each switch can bring a verification prompt; see why Twitch asks for a code |
| One browser profile per account | Chrome Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and settings separate | A new profile may be treated as a new device at first sign-in |
| Firefox containers | Mozilla says they isolate cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB and caches inside one window | History and bookmarks stay shared, saved passwords are not isolated |
| Private window | A temporary extra session | Twitch lists private browsing among the reasons it may ask for verification again |
Twitch's Sign Out Everywhere option (Settings, Security and Privacy, Security) logs you out wherever you are signed in, third-party applications included. Use it deliberately: it ends every session of that account. The routine for running several accounts in parallel is in separate browser profiles for Twitch, and what a browser profile is explains the idea behind it.
What if it does not work?
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Signing in to account B signs you out of account A | Both used the same browser profile | Use one profile per account |
| Twitch asks for a code at every sign-in | Cleared cookies, private windows or a changed IP address, all on Twitch's own list | Read the sign-out and verification guide |
| You cannot create a second account on the same email | The setting is off after verification | Switch it on, then use ordinary sign-up |
| You forgot the other account's username | The account exists but you lost the name | Use the Account Recovery Tool |
| A phone number is reported as already in use | It is linked to another account | Twitch says such a number can still be added: add it and enter the code Twitch sends; if that fails, contact Twitch Support |
Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and keep to Twitch's rules. The rules guide shows where the lines are drawn.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Every profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so the Twitch accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. It does not change Twitch's rules or its verification steps. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Twitch.
Frequently asked questions
Can you have multiple Twitch accounts?
Yes. According to Twitch's Creating an Account page you may open further accounts whenever you like, provided each keeps to the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Every account is held to the same rules, so use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage.
How do I switch between Twitch accounts?
Twitch's Help Center describes logging out of the current account in settings and signing in again. If your accounts share an email and use Google, Apple or Amazon sign-in, a multi-account picker lets you choose which account to open.
Can I use the same email for two Twitch accounts?
Only after you turn on Enable additional account creation (Email) in Settings. Twitch says that verifying an email switches off creating more accounts with it, and that turning the setting on lets you register a single additional account.
Can two Twitch accounts share one phone number?
Yes. Twitch's Help Center says you can add the same phone number to more than one account and verify it on each. A separate Safety Center page says up to five accounts can be verified per phone number for chat verification.
How do I find all my Twitch accounts?
Open the Account Recovery Tool at twitch.tv/user/account-recovery, enter your email or phone number, choose I Don't Know My Username, and Twitch emails or texts you a list of every account linked to it.
Can I stay logged in to two Twitch accounts at once in one browser?
Twitch's pages describe switching by logging out and signing in again, not two accounts open together. To keep two open side by side, use a separate browser profile for each; Chrome Help says profiles keep their data separate.
