ArtStation Multiple Accounts: What the Help Center Allows and What Gets Accounts Locked
Does ArtStation allow more than one account?
The Help Center pages read on 3 October 2026 set no maximum number of accounts per person, and none of them contains a sentence that forbids a second account outright. They do assume extra accounts exist: the tax FAQ has an entry that opens with "I have multiple ArtStation accounts", and the Help Center treats studio profiles, school accounts and storefronts as separate things. What it spells out is behaviour that gets accounts locked.
The binding text is ArtStation's Terms of Service, which the Help Center links to at artstation.com/tos. Read it before you open another account.
Which kinds of accounts does ArtStation say it is for?
| Account | What the Help Center says |
|---|---|
| Individual artist account | ArtStation is a portfolio platform: the work on a profile should be produced by the profile holder |
| Studio profile | Studios may post work the studio produced; no recruiting ads; no profile for a single project; software, asset or tool companies may not post their customers' work |
| School account | Apply through the School application; an authorised administrator or faculty member must submit it, and students may not create one for their school; review can take up to a week |
| Aggregate or non-individual-artist account | Not allowed: an account named after a company or library and used to post other people's work is disabled |
| Company promotional account | Forbidden: companies may not create accounts to promote products on the company's behalf, though artists may post their own products from individual accounts |
| Marketplace storefronts | With several storefronts, tax information is added for each account individually |
What gets an ArtStation account locked or banned?
The account-disabled article says ArtStation is a free service that receives a large volume of work, so it treats Terms of Service violations seriously, may lock accounts without warning, and cannot contact each person one by one.
| Behaviour | What the Help Center says |
|---|---|
| Art theft | Painting over someone else's copyrighted work without permission is a violation; the account can be reinstated if you contact ArtStation and resolve it |
| Erotic content | Not tolerated even with the mature content filter on; accounts are banned, and ArtStation says it will not respond to those bans |
| Aggregate accounts | ArtStation is not meant for posting other users' work; the Help Center prefers that you ask the artists to publish on their own accounts and link back to your service |
| Company promotional accounts | Companies may not run accounts to promote products on the company's behalf |
| Unrelated content | ArtStation is for media and entertainment art; photography accounts are commonly locked |
| Misusing Message | Message is meant for approaching artists about paid work, not for general contact |
| Spammy or inflammatory comments | Abuse of the commenting system, including promotional replies, leads to bans |
| Clearly invented account details | Posting under clearly invented information is grounds for banning at ArtStation's discretion |
What do the sign-up and messaging checks mean for extra accounts?
The spam article says registering requires a second factor such as SMS or Facebook/LinkedIn, that the SMS must use a real device and passes a fraud-detection step that rejects numbers from receive-SMS websites, and that this largely deters spam bots. In other words, each account you register has to complete that step with a genuine second factor of its own. When abuse is reported on the site, staff look into it and are likely to ban the account.
Messaging has limits of its own. A new conversation with someone you are not connected to needs a Message Request, with a type (General or Business) and a short explanation. You may message directly when you continue a conversation, when the person follows you, when you contact a Marketplace seller, or when you are a recruiter with an active job subscription or posting. If you hit the daily maximum or the system reads your activity as spam, you cannot create new conversations and are told to contact Support. No number is published.
How do you stay inside the rules when you run several accounts?
- Give each account a real purpose. An individual account for an artist's own portfolio, a studio profile for work a studio produced, a school account through the application. Not an aggregate or company promotional account.
- Use accurate account details. Clearly invented information is a ground for a ban.
- Post only work you own or may publish. The Community Content Guidelines say so, and the collaboration article adds that shared artworks cannot appear in several portfolios, so credit collaborators in the project description instead.
- Keep Message for work opportunities. Do not use it, or several accounts, for general contact with other users.
- Keep tax and payout details per storefront account, and tell support when you fill in several tax forms.
- Use roles, not shared logins, for teams. See managing ArtStation for a studio or team.
- Re-read the Terms. The Community Content Guidelines say the guidelines may change and are subject to the Terms of Service.
What if an account is locked?
- Read the account-disabled article and see which reason could apply.
- Contact ArtStation Support. For art theft the Help Center says the account can be reinstated once the situation is resolved.
- Expect to wait. The Member Support article gives Pro members and paying customers priority, with a typical reply in one to three business days, and says free accounts may wait longer.
- Do not open a replacement account to carry on. The Help Center does not offer that as a route, and the Terms are the place to check what it would mean for you.
- Take the erotic-content rule at face value: the Help Center says there is no recourse.
If you are locked out by a sign-in problem rather than a ban, see ArtStation login not working or keeps signing you out.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED does not change ArtStation's rules and cannot make an account compliant. It is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles, so ArtStation accounts you own or are authorised to manage can be kept in order. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, and profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk. Profile data stays on your own computer. Use it within ArtStation's rules and Terms. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with ArtStation.
Frequently asked questions
Does ArtStation allow multiple accounts?
The Help Center pages read on 3 October 2026 set no number of accounts per person and contain no sentence that forbids a second account. They do assume extra accounts exist, since the tax FAQ answers a question about having multiple accounts, and they list behaviour that gets accounts locked. The Terms of Service are the binding text.
Why was my ArtStation account disabled?
The Help Center lists art theft, erotic content, aggregate or non-individual-artist accounts, company promotional accounts, unrelated content such as photography, misuse of the Message feature, spammy or inflammatory comments and clearly invented account details. It says it cannot contact everyone and invites you to contact ArtStation.
Can a company have an ArtStation account?
Studios may have profiles that post work the studio produced. The Help Center forbids company accounts that promote products on the company's behalf and says companies should advertise or post jobs through ArtStation's recruitment section. Software, asset or tool companies may not post work their customers made.
Can I delete an extra ArtStation account?
Yes. According to the Help Center, sign in, open the Avatar menu, choose Settings, scroll to the bottom of Account Settings, click Cancel your account and enter your password. It warns that deletion cannot be undone and takes your projects, products, messages, comments, collections and library purchases with it.
Why can't I send messages on ArtStation?
The Help Center gives two reasons: you reached the daily message limit, or you sent many messages and the system detected it as spam. The error says the message was not delivered and you cannot create new conversations, and it directs you to Support. It publishes no number for the limit.
Do I need tax details for each ArtStation account that sells?
According to the tax FAQ, a seller with several storefronts adds tax details to every account separately and should tell support when filling in more than one tax form. The legal owner of the account must provide them, and the page points to a tax professional for advice.
