How to Keep Several Bandcamp Accounts Apart on One PC With Separate Browser Profiles

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 5 min read

How do you keep several Bandcamp accounts apart on one PC with browser profiles?

Give each login its own profile and sign in to one Bandcamp account per profile. Chrome's help says a profile keeps bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation says the user data directory holds profile data such as history, bookmarks and cookies. A new profile therefore starts with no Bandcamp login until you sign in.

First check whether you need profiles at all. According to Bandcamp's Help Center (read 3 October 2026), accounts you can connect under Settings > Connected Accounts are managed from one login through the avatar menu. Separate profiles are for accounts that stay separate, for example accounts you manage for different clients or projects, or accounts that share an email address.

What does a profile separate, and what does Bandcamp keep in the browser?

Cookies, history, bookmarksIn the browser profile (Chromium docs)Each profile has its own

The what-is-a-browser-profile guide explains the idea in more depth, and the comparison guide shows how private windows and VPNs differ.

How do you set up one Chrome profile per account?

  1. Select Profile at the top right of Chrome, then Add Chrome profile.
  2. Name the profile after the account it will hold. Chrome says you can enter a new name or choose a photo or colour theme, and the changes save automatically.
  3. In that profile, open bandcamp.com and log in with the account's login email or username. Use the username if several accounts share an email address, as the Help Center says.
  4. Open the avatar menu and confirm it shows the account you expect.
  5. Bookmark that account's page in that profile only.
  6. Repeat for each account. To switch, select Profile at the top right and choose the profile you want.

Edge. Select the Profile icon in the upper-right corner, choose Set up a new profile, pick Personal or Work or school, then Sign in to sync data or Start without your data, and Confirm and start browsing. Edge's help page lists separate settings, bookmarks, extensions, themes and preferences for each profile but does not mention cookies, so test by logging in to a different account in each profile.

Firefox. Mozilla's Containers page describes contexts inside one Firefox, each with its own cookies and local storage, aimed at logging in to several accounts on the same site. It says history, bookmarks and saved passwords are not separated.

How should you name profiles and what should you record?

Profile nameAccountRecord alongside it
BC fan - yournameFan accountLogin email, username, fan URL
BC artist - subdomainArtist accountLogin email, username, subdomain
BC label - subdomainLabel accountThe same, plus the artists on the roster

The Help Center says the login username cannot be changed and is not public, so only you can look it up; write it down. Artists and labels can change their subdomain, and fans their URL, so record the current one.

How do you hand a profile over or back it up?

  • Hand-over. Chrome's help says anyone with your device can switch to any other Chrome profile on it, so share the computer only with people you trust. Do not hand over a profile that holds other accounts. For an artist or label page, use Bandcamp's invitations and give access logins, covered in the label and artist access guide.
  • Removal. Chrome says removing a profile erases its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings from the computer. Note each account's login email and username first.
  • Backup. Chromium's documentation says each profile is a subdirectory of the user data directory, by default %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data on Windows for Chrome. Close Chrome before copying a profile folder, and store the copy as privately as a password, because it holds cookies and history.

What if it still does not work?

  • Make sure cookies are enabled, including third-party cookies, and disable extensions one at a time. Both are steps from the Help Center's General troubleshooting page.
  • If your email opens the wrong account, log in with the username instead.
  • For an activation link, the Help Center suggests a new private browser window so old browser data cannot interfere.
  • For resets and ownership checks, read the Bandcamp login troubleshooting guide.

When do ordinary profiles stop being enough?

Browser profiles work well for a handful of accounts on one computer. When you look after a roster of artists, a label and several fan logins, opening, finding and organising profiles one by one becomes the work itself.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Every profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings; you can open, stop and organise profiles in bulk, set a proxy per profile, and assign one proxy to many profiles at once. Profile data stays on your own computer. For the Bandcamp Fan and Artist apps, which the Help Center lists for iOS and Android, ADSSPEED also has Android phone profiles, each its own device configuration. Setup is in installing ADSSPEED on Windows. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Bandcamp.

Frequently asked questions

Can you log in to two Bandcamp accounts in different browser profiles at once?

None of the Help Center pages read forbids it, and each profile keeps its own cookies and settings, so each can hold a different login. The Help Center's own route for several accounts is to connect them under Settings and switch from the avatar menu; use profiles for accounts that stay separate.

How do you log in as a fan and as an artist on Bandcamp on the same PC?

If the accounts are connected, log in once and use the avatar menu: view collection for the fan side, view site for the artist page. If they are not connected, give each its own browser profile, and log in with the username if both share an email address.

Why does my Bandcamp cart disappear in another browser or profile?

The Help Center says cart history is stored via browser cookies, so clearing cookies, or switching device or browser, resets it. A profile starts with its own cookies. Log in to a fan account and use the wishlist, which the page says is saved and available anywhere you log in.

How do you set up a second Chrome profile?

Chrome's help says to select Profile at the top right, then Add Chrome profile, and you can enter a new name or choose a photo or colour theme, which are saved automatically. To switch, select Profile at the top right and choose the profile you want.

What happens to a profile's data if you remove it?

Chrome's help says that after you remove a profile, its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings are erased from the computer. Your Bandcamp account is not deleted by that, but note each account's login email and username first, because the saved passwords go too.
