How to Manage a LINE Official Account With a Team: Business ID, Administrators and Access

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 6 min read

How can a team run one LINE Official Account without sharing a login?

By adding each person as a member instead of passing a password around. LINE's Official Account help describes the route: administrators invite people from LINE Official Account Manager for web browsers, and each person accepts the role with their own account. This guide covers that route, the sign-in and security options around it, and what the Official Account Terms say about third parties operating an account.

It is based on LINE's Official Account help (help2.line.me), its Business ID help and its terms, all read on 3 October 2026. Some of the help pages are the Japan or Taiwan editions, in English. A personal LINE account is a different thing, covered in the guide to two accounts on one computer.

Business ID, Manager and the app: who signs in where

PieceWhat it isHow you sign in
Business IDLINE's common verification system for logging in to services for businesses and developersWith a LINE account, or with a business account that uses an email address and a password you choose. A given service may require one or the other

LINE Official Account appThe phone app for the same accountsWith a Business ID as well. Adding or changing administrators cannot be configured from the app

LINE says a Business ID can be linked to only one email address or LINE account. That fits the invitation model below: every person has their own sign-in and uses it. A business account also lets you use a work email address instead of your personal LINE credentials.

Add a teammate as an administrator, step by step

  1. Log in to LINE Official Account Manager for web browsers with an account that already has administrator permission.
  2. Select the account you want to configure from the Accounts list.
  3. Click Settings > Manage permissions > Add member.
  4. Under Permission type select Administrator and click Generate link.
  5. Give the link to your teammate. They open it, log in with their own account and select Accept role.
  6. Check that the teammate appears on the Manage permissions page with Administrator next to their name.

LINE adds two notes: operators cannot add administrators, and this setting cannot be configured from the LINE Official Account app. To change a member's permission later, go to Settings > Manage permissions, click Edit next to the member, choose a permission under Permission type and click Save.

Create accountsA Business ID can create up to 100 accounts, and verified and unverified accounts count togetherLINE for Business or the LINE Official Account app

Two more facts from LINE's Official Account help: accounts created in the app are unverified until they pass a review, and LINE Official Account is not available in the European Union. The limit of 100 was read on 3 October 2026 and can change.

Keeping access secure: codes, 2-step verification and login history

  • Verification code. When you log in with a LINE account, a four-digit code appears on the computer and is entered in the LINE app on the phone, for the LINE account whose email address and password you used. LINE says the code is entered in the app version of LINE.
  • 2-step verification. For business accounts, LINE's Business ID help says an extra step by email or an authenticator app prevents unauthorised logins. You turn it on from the 2-step verification section of the Business ID profile page. LINE tells you to store the backup codes safely, and says that if the device is lost or broken you can log in with a backup code or your phone number.
  • Login history. The Business ID help says it shows the date and location of logins, the most recent 30 from the past three months, on your profile page after you log in.
  • If someone else may have logged in. LINE suggests changing the password, or using Reset password on the login page if you cannot log in, turning on 2-step verification, and registering an email address you rarely use elsewhere.

Agencies and several accounts: what LINE's terms say

LINE's Official Account Terms of Use, shown with an effective date of 3 April 2024, speak to this directly:

  • The customer must manage the account's passwords strictly, at its own responsibility (Article 6).
  • Customers may grant third parties the authority needed to operate the account and may consign its operation to them (Article 6).
  • Assigning, lending or sharing an account with a third party is on the list of prohibited acts (Article 18).
  • Legal liability from using the account is stated to rest with the customer, and the account's administrators and operation personnel are stated to be jointly and severally liable (Article 10). Read that clause yourself before you add people.
  • Corporate customers may apply to use an account for affiliated companies and remain responsible for their compliance (Article 6).

Read together, the permission screen is the tool LINE provides for adding people, and handing over a login is the thing to avoid. The Guidelines, shown as the version of 1 October 2026, add rules for operating accounts and say LINE may delete content, suspend the service or end the contract without giving reasons. For the wider picture see the rules article.

When someone leaves the team

  1. Open Settings > Manage permissions and review the member list.
  2. Change the person's permission with Edit. LINE's page describes changing permissions and does not describe removing a member, so check what the screen offers.
  3. If a business-account login was ever shared, reset its password and turn on 2-step verification.
  4. Look through the Business ID login history for logins you do not recognise.

If something goes wrong

  • You cannot add an administrator: you may be an operator, or you may be in the app. Ask an administrator, and use the browser version.
  • The verification code does not go anywhere: it is entered in the LINE app on the phone for the LINE account used to log in.
  • You do not know the LINE account's email address or password: LINE says to check or change them in the LINE app, then try again.
  • You forgot a business account password: choose Log in with business account > Reset password in Manager and follow the email.

Where ADSSPEED fits

LINE Official Account Manager runs in a browser, which is where ADSSPEED fits. ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. One profile per Business ID keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile, profiles can be opened and stopped in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. See managing several client accounts and the profiles article.

Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow LINE's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with LINE.
