Is There a Strava Business Account? How Club Owners, Admins and Teams Work
Is there a Strava business account for a brand or team?
Not in the pages read for this guide. Strava's Terms of Service (read 3 October 2026) limit the Services to personal use and say that, unless Strava agrees in writing, you "cannot use the Services for business-related purposes". Strava's business site lists Sponsored Challenges, Sponsored Segments and Subscription Partnerships, and its agency page describes working with Strava directly. None of these pages describes a business account, delegated access or a shared login. The Help Center sends general business requests to the Get in Touch option on business.strava.com and says its Help Desk cannot handle them.
What a group can use inside the product is a club. The Help Center describes clubs as open to any kind of group, from casual get-togethers to racing teams. A club has an owner and administrators, and each of them is a person acting through their own account. The club section of the Terms does not address clubs run by companies, so a business that wants a club presence should ask Strava first, through the Get in Touch route.
Who can do what in a Strava club?
According to Strava's Help Center (read 3 October 2026), the roles break down like this.
| Role | What the Help Center says it can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Becomes owner automatically on creating the club, and stays in the role until ownership is handed to another member |
| Administrator | Accept join requests, make other members admins, withdraw admin rights (their own included), remove members and edit the club's details |
| Owner or administrator | Create group events from the club page: the website button is Add Club Event, the app option is Create an event |
| Administrator, messages | Post in every club message channel and add channels, choosing for each whether all members or only admins may post. The Announcements channel is reserved for admins |
| Administrator, posts | Switch club posting to admins-only |
| Member | Can join public clubs freely. In an invite-only club, owners and admins invite people or approve requests. The club posts page says members can delete only their own posts |
Section 18 of the Terms puts a duty on whoever creates or administers a club. The club must follow the Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy, must not present itself as connected to Strava or pose as Strava, must hold the rights to everything it posts, and must not be used to run contests, sweepstakes or similar promotions that Strava considers inappropriate. Strava reserves the right to take down a club or its content, strip its verified status, or remove or transfer its ownership.
How do you add an admin or hand a club over?
- Choose trusted people. The moderation guidelines warn that an admin you add has the same permissions as the other admins.
- Open the member list. The Help Center page for the app says to select View all members, tap the three dots next to a member and promote them to admin or remove them. Owners and admins of invite-only clubs can manage join requests and members on the app or the website.
- To hand over ownership, the same app page says an existing admin can be made owner, moved back to ordinary member or taken off the list. The club page adds that the owner has to stay until ownership has passed to someone else.
- Stepping down? The guidelines ask you to line up other athletes who can take over moderation, and to give them the right role.
- Before an owner deletes their account, Strava encourages handing ownership on first; if nobody takes over, the club carries on without an owner.
What if the option is missing? Check that you are signed in to the account that is owner or admin of that club, and that you are on the app page or website screen the steps describe. The Help Center's club page mentions transferring ownership but gives no steps, so the promote-to-owner option on the app page is the documented route. If you ask Strava itself to transfer a club's ownership, Section 18 of the Terms says it may require documentation from you.
Why not share one login for the brand?
Because Strava does not allow it. The Terms ask you not to share your account or subscription with others, make you responsible for everything that happens under your account or from your devices, and require you to tell Strava at once about unauthorised access. The Acceptable Use Policy lists impersonating a person, company or brand as a violation. The club guidelines add that a club must not borrow Strava's trademarks or official-sounding names, or claim to speak for Strava, its affiliates, its partners or any other business, person or place, without explicit permission. Breaking them can cost the owner their account and the club its place on Strava.
Three habits follow:
- Every admin signs in with their own account and their own email address, in their own browser profile if they share a computer.
- Every account has a unique, strong password. Strava's page on security emails recommends a password manager.
- Use the roles Strava gives you. The pages read describe sign-in by password or one-time code and no two-step setting or delegated access, so club roles are the access tool they describe.
Which other official options exist, and how do you off-board someone?
| Option | What the Help Center says |
|---|---|
| Verified Club badge | The person running the club (owner or admin) uses their real name, profile and a clear photo and is 18 or over. The club has 100 or more members, posts at least once a week, has a recognised name or brand, and keeps to the Acceptable Use Policy and Community Standards |
| Team subscription codes | Bulk subscription codes can be bought only by organisations based in the United States that have no more than 250 members. Each member is emailed a personal code to redeem. Other organisations contact the business team |
| Sponsored Challenges and Sponsored Segments | Described on business.strava.com, which has a contact page |
When a person leaves the team:
- Demote or remove them. Admins can revoke admin status and remove club members.
- Transfer ownership first if they own the club.
- Remember that accounts stay personal. Apps connected to someone's own account are reviewed under Settings, My Apps, where access can be revoked, so each person does that on their own account.
- Change a password if it was ever shared, which the Terms say you should not do. Settings, My Account, Change Password does the job.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so the personal accounts of the people you work with can stay signed in side by side on one computer without signing each other out. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. It does not create a business account or change Strava's roles and rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Strava.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Strava business account?
The pages read (3 October 2026) describe none. Strava's Terms limit the Services to personal use and make business use depend on Strava's written agreement. General business requests go through the Get in Touch option on business.strava.com.
How do I add an admin to a Strava club?
The Help Center page for the app says to select View all members, tap the three dots next to a member and promote them to admin. Owners and admins of invite-only clubs can manage requests and members on the app or the website. A new admin has the same permissions as other admins.
How do I transfer ownership of a Strava club?
An owner stays in the role until ownership has been handed to another member. The Help Center page for the app says an existing admin can be made owner, moved back to ordinary member or taken off the list. Strava encourages handing ownership on before an account is deleted.
Can several people manage one Strava account?
Strava's Terms ask you not to share your account or subscription with others. For a team, make each person an admin of the club on their own account, so that roles and responsibility stay tied to individuals.
How do I get a verified badge for a Strava club?
The Help Center says the person running the club, an owner or admin, must use their real name, profile and a clear photo and be at least 18, and the club needs at least 100 members and a post at least once a week. Applications go through Strava's verification page.
Can a company buy Strava subscriptions for its team?
According to the Help Center, bulk subscription codes can be bought only by organisations based in the United States that have no more than 250 members. Every member is emailed a personal code to redeem. Other organisations are told to contact the Strava business team.
