Can You Use Two Strava Accounts on the Same Computer?
Can you be signed in to two Strava accounts on one computer?
For yourself, no. Strava's rules are built around one personal account per person, and the sign-in pages in its Help Center describe no account switcher. For two people who share a computer, yes: each signs in to their own account, and the practical job is keeping their sign-ins apart.
According to Strava's Terms of Service (read 3 October 2026; the page shows an effective date of 28 September 2026), you agree "to create only one account for your personal use" when you sign up, and not to share the account or your subscription with others. The Help Center adds that a single email address can only belong to one Strava account.
How does signing in to Strava work on a computer?
Every sign-in method points at an email address. According to Strava's Help Center (read 3 October 2026), these are the options and their limits.
| Method | What the Help Center says |
|---|---|
| Email and password | A forgotten password is reset through the account recovery link. Once signed in, you change it under Settings, My Account, Change Password |
| One-time code | Athletes who use email and password can switch to a code sent by email, under Settings, My Account, Switch to One-Time Codes. A code is valid for 5 minutes |
| A Google login brings up the Strava account linked to that Gmail address, or makes a new one if none is linked. A separate page explains how to move to email and password | |
| Sign in with Apple | An account made with Sign Up with Apple used Apple's Hide My Email feature, so Strava holds a proxy address |
| No longer supported. Use email with a one-time code, Google, or password recovery |
Because every account hangs on one email address, a second account always needs a different address. That is also why an invalid-email message shown while you change your email can mean another Strava account already uses that address. None of these pages describes two accounts staying signed in side by side in one browser, so treat the browser profile as the thing that holds a sign-in.
When do two accounts end up on one computer?
Some of these situations are ordinary, and some are accidents worth repairing.
| Situation | What Strava's pages point to |
|---|---|
| Two people in one home share a PC | Each person has their own account and email. The Terms ask for one personal account per person and no sharing |
| One person discovers a second account | The merge-or-delete route for duplicates, which means signing in to each account in turn |
| A Google login lands on an empty account | Use another login option, do not delete the empty account, and contact Support with a link to your profile |
| Several Garmin devices upload through one PC | In Garmin Express, link each device to the right Garmin Connect account and use Change Account to correct a mistake |
| A club or a brand | Roles belong to individual accounts; see the club roles guide |
The Garmin row comes from a Help Center page about someone else's activities appearing on your account. It says Garmin Connect can also authorise the wrong Strava account, and the fix it gives is to disconnect Garmin in your settings, delete the activity and, if you want, reconnect to your own Garmin Connect account.
How do you keep two people's accounts apart?
- One person, one account, one email. Do not create a second account for yourself.
- One browser profile per person. Chrome Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation lists cookies among the data a profile holds. Open strava.com only inside the owner's profile. See what a browser profile is. A private window is no substitute: Chrome Help says Incognito keeps no site data once the session ends. The guide on incognito, VPNs and profiles compares the options.
- Check before you act. Look at the profile icon in the browser and the name on the Strava page before you upload, edit or delete anything.
- Log out everywhere after an email change. The Help Center recommends logging out of Strava on all mobile devices and web browsers, then back in, so the old address does not return on a device that was still signed in.
- Merging? Use two named profiles. The merge route needs you to sign in to the source account and then to the account you keep. Name the two profiles after those roles so you cannot mix them up.
The profile guide for Strava shows each click.
What if the wrong account opens or something is missing?
| Symptom | Why the Help Center says it happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription not showing | The purchase may sit on a second account, for example one created through Sign in with Apple | If you subscribed through Apple, confirm you are signed in to that Apple ID. If it persists, send a ticket with the receipt and the emails of current and previous accounts |
| A new, empty account after a Google login | Your original Strava account was not linked to that Gmail address | Use another login option, do not delete the empty account, and contact Support with a link to your profile |
| Someone else's Garmin activities appear | A borrowed or used device, or Garmin Connect authorised the wrong Strava account | Disconnect Garmin in settings, delete the activity, reconnect if you wish |
| Login errors, or a code that never arrives | A typo, a wrong code or too many login requests | See why Strava keeps logging you out |
The pages read for this guide state no device limit, so do not assume one in either direction. The change-email page speaks of several mobile devices and web browsers, which indicates one account can be signed in in more than one place.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so the accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, a proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. It does not change Strava's rule of one personal account per person. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Strava.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have 2 Strava accounts?
Strava's Terms of Service (read 3 October 2026) ask for one personal account per person, and the Help Center says one email address can only belong to one account. If you have two by accident, the Help Center describes how to merge activity data or delete the duplicate.
Can two people use Strava on the same computer?
Yes, as long as each person signs in to their own account with their own email address and nobody shares a login. Separate browser profiles keep the two sign-ins and their saved data apart, and each person should check which account is open before uploading or editing.
Can you have Strava on two devices?
Strava's change-email page speaks of several mobile devices and web browsers and recommends logging out of all of them after an email change, which indicates one account can be signed in in more than one place. The pages read for this guide state no device limit.
Can you combine 2 Strava accounts?
Only partly. The Help Center says merging is done on the website, not in the mobile app, and only activity data can be moved, not manually entered activities. You bulk-export from one account, upload the files to the other and then delete the duplicate.
Why did I land on an empty Strava account after logging in with Google?
The Help Center explains that a Google login goes to the account linked to that Gmail address, or creates one, so if your original account is not linked to it you can end up in a new, empty account. It says not to delete it and to contact Support with a link to your profile.
Can you link Strava accounts together?
The pages read describe no way to link two Strava accounts. They describe merging activity data from one account into another and then deleting the duplicate. Services such as Garmin Connect are authorised against a Strava account, and the Help Center warns the wrong one can be authorised, so check which account you approve.
