Can Browser Profiles Keep Viber Accounts Apart on One PC? What Works and What Doesn't
Do browser profiles help you keep Viber accounts apart on one PC?
Only for Viber's web tools, not for Viber Desktop. Viber's download page and the Help Center's supported-platforms page (read 3 October 2026) list apps for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux and mention no browser version, and the desktop app needs Viber activated on your phone first. A browser profile cannot split accounts inside an installed app, and Viber's Terms restrict creating multiple accounts anyway; see two Viber accounts on one computer.
Where a profile does help is every Viber tool you reach in a web page, covered below. Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage.
What a browser profile keeps separate
Chrome Help says profiles let you keep your Chrome information separate, such as bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings. Chromium's documentation adds that profile data such as history, bookmarks and cookies lives in the user data directory, with each profile in its own subdirectory. In plain terms, a profile is its own set of sign-ins and saved data inside the browser. The wider idea is explained in what a browser profile is.
Firefox users can get a similar effect with containers, which Mozilla describes as lightweight persistent contexts that isolate sites from one another. What no profile does is reach outside the browser: it does not touch Viber Desktop, the Viber app on your phone or anything else installed on the PC.
Which Viber tools run in a web browser?
| Viber tool | Where it runs | What the official pages say |
|---|---|---|
| Viber Desktop | Installed app for Windows, macOS and Linux | Linked to the account on your phone with a QR code; not a browser tab |
| Viber Ads Manager | Reached through a web link on Viber's business site | A self-serve platform for small and medium-sized advertisers and local agencies; the Advertising Policy says each advertiser managed for others needs a separate account |
| Viber Out website | Web | To view purchase or call history there you create an account with your phone number, and buying sends an SMS code to that number |
| Contact Us request form | Web | The route the Help Center gives for appealing a restriction |
Step by step: one Chrome profile per client
- In Chrome, select the profile icon at the top right and choose Add Chrome profile.
- Choose a name, photo and color scheme. If you sign in to Chrome with a Google Account, the profile takes that account's name, so pick a name that identifies the client. A distinct color scheme can make the right window easier to recognise.
- Open the client's Viber web tool inside that profile only, and sign in with the access the client authorised for you.
- Repeat for each client. To change client, select the profile icon and choose the profile you want.
- Keep your own browsing in your own profile, so personal logins never mix with client ones.
Other browsers have their own profile features with different menu names, and the same one-profile-per-client habit applies. The wider client-account setup is in how agencies manage multiple client ad accounts.
Naming, hand-over and backups
- Naming. Use the client first, then the tool, for example Acme Viber Ads. A consistent pattern saves mistakes when you have ten windows open.
- Hand-over. A Chrome profile holds saved passwords, so do not pass a whole profile to a colleague. Give them their own authorised access to the tool and remove yours.
- A short register. Note who holds access to which client's tool and who authorised it, so access can be withdrawn when someone leaves. If a tool offers its own team access, use that instead of sharing one login.
- Deleting a profile. Chrome Help warns that removing a profile erases its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings from the computer.
- Viber chats. The Help Center says backup and transfer happen on the phone, not on desktop or tablet, and that a backup is tied to your phone number.
- Viber Desktop files. Deactivating the desktop app deletes its media download folder, while the documents folder is not deleted. Copy anything you need first.
What if a sign-in goes wrong?
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| You are in the wrong client's window | Sign out of that tool, close the window and switch to the right profile before doing anything else |
| You are locked out of a tool | Use that tool's own recovery path; for the Viber Out website, the sign-in runs on your phone number and an SMS code |
| An account is restricted | Appeal through the Contact Us request form and explain what was blocked; do not open another account to carry on |
| A profile was deleted by mistake | Chrome erases its data from the computer, so sign in again from scratch and rebuild the bookmarks |
When one profile per client is not enough
Ordinary browser profiles are created, named and opened one at a time. With a handful of clients that is easy. With dozens, every extra sign-in is another profile to name, track and hand over by hand, and one wrong click can put a client's work in the wrong window. That is the point where a tool built around profiles starts to help.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. It does not run Viber Desktop or add accounts to it. For the web tools above, each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. Use it only with accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Viber's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Viber.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Viber desktop web version?
Viber's download page and the Help Center's supported-platforms page list apps for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux and mention no browser version. Viber Desktop is an installed app, and it needs Viber activated on your phone first.
Can I run 2 Viber accounts on one PC with browser profiles?
No. A browser profile separates data inside the browser, and Viber Desktop is not a browser. It links to the account on your phone, and Viber's Terms of Service list creating multiple accounts among restricted actions.
How do I keep Viber Ads Manager logins for different clients apart?
Create one Chrome profile per client: select the profile icon, choose Add Chrome profile, then pick a name, photo and color scheme. Sign in to each client's tool only inside its own profile, using access that client has authorised for you.
What happens to the data when I delete a Chrome profile?
Chrome Help says that after you remove a profile, its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings are erased from the computer. Export or note down anything you still need before deleting it.
Does Viber back up the desktop app?
The Help Center says chat backup and transfer are done on the phone, not on desktop or tablet, and a backup is tied to your phone number. Deactivating Viber on the desktop deletes its media download folder, so copy what you need first.
Do agencies need a separate Viber account for each advertiser?
For Viber advertising, yes. The Advertising Policy says that if you manage ads for another individual or entity, each advertiser must be managed through a separate account. A separate browser profile per advertiser keeps those web sign-ins apart.
