How to Give a Team or Agency Access to VK Communities and Ad Accounts Without Sharing a Password

How can a team or agency work on VK without sharing one login? #

VK offers three official mechanisms, and the right one depends on what you manage. According to VK's Help and articles (read 3 October 2026), communities use roles, VK Business ID handles employees across VK's business products, and VK Ads shares ad cabinets through access rights. In each case people work under their own sign-in, which matches VK's security advice never to pass codes to anyone.

Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow VK's rules.

Which roles exist in a VK community, and who can be the owner? #

VK's article on transferring ownership says communities have four authority roles: advertiser, moderator, editor and administrator. The owner has all their rights, including setting up ad campaigns and deleting subscribers' comments and posts. A community can have only one owner, other managers cannot remove the owner, and Support often asks for the owner personally. The article does not list what each lower role may do, so check that in the community's own settings.

The transfer is possible only in the computer version of VK, and you confirm it with the account password or a code by SMS or push notification. After appointing a new owner you have 14 days to cancel. VK advises handing ownership only to someone you fully trust, and says the owner's details should preferably be real.

How does VK Business ID handle employees? #

VK says VK Business ID keeps business details in one place, simplifies sign-in to VK's business products and can confirm business status. It lists VK Ads, RuStore, business communities, the VK ID authorisation service and VK ORD as the products it works with.

1. In your personal cabinet at bid.vk.ru, open Invitations.
2. Choose Invite employees and follow the screen.
3. When the person accepts, open Employees and Access and set their role and the VK products they may use.

To change the owner, give another employee the Owner role; the new owner can then remove the previous one. VK warns that after an owner change you may lose access to content and settings in some products, and that the product's support can help restore data.

How do VK Ads cabinets share access with agencies and targetologists? #

VK Ads Help describes multi-accounts as a way to switch between several cabinets and manage them from one window. It says rights to a cabinet cannot technically be transferred, but you can grant others the right to use it: open Settings, then Access rights, choose Grant access, pick a cabinet or a targetologist, enter the cabinet ID and choose the level. The other cabinet then confirms.

Limits: access to and from no more than 50 cabinets, all of the same type as the original, and only inside VK Ads. Working in several cabinets at once is possible only in the full computer version.

In an agency cabinet, VK separates clients from managers, and rights are set per client. A targetologist cabinet lets a specialist run several clients while the advertiser keeps the cabinet and the funds; the specialist cannot withdraw money, change payment details or top up the balance from a personal card. One specialist may hold only one targetologist cabinet. For a corporate cabinet, VK recommends not using personal VK ID accounts, mailboxes or phone numbers. How do I remove access when someone leaves? #

What if access is lost or a person has left? #

• You cannot sign in to a VK Ads cabinet. VK says you can sign in only the way you registered: VK ID, Odnoklassniki or Mail. Try your other VK pages or mailboxes, then write to VK Ads support with any details you know, such as tax number, profile link or campaign ID.
• Access vanished after an owner change. VK says to contact the support of the affected product.
• Responsibility. VK Ads' rules of service for customers (the version dated 21 July 2026 on the page) make the customer responsible for all actions taken through the account by the customer or a representative, and for the safety of the unique name and password. Do not hand your password to an agency.
