Wattpad Multiple Accounts: What the Terms and Policies Say, and What Gets an Account Closed

Can you have two accounts on Wattpad? #

Wattpad's pages set no number. Its archived Terms of Service, still hosted in the Help Center, say you are "encouraged to create no more than one account" and that using multiple accounts for any malicious activity results in immediate account termination. The Help Center also links each email address to only one active account. The current Terms (read 3 October 2026) set out account rules without repeating that sentence, but they make you responsible for everything done on your account and let Wattpad suspend or terminate it at any time. The prudent reading is one account per person unless you have a clear reason for another, with every account you keep held to the same rules.

What do Wattpad's pages say about accounts? #

What is clearly off limits? #

• Impersonation. Wattpad staff and Ambassadors carry verified badges, and the Community Standards bar posing as them, as Stars, public figures or brands.
• Spam, advertising and business use. Wattpad is for personal and non-commercial use. The removals page lists unwanted bulk messages, using Wattpad for business purposes and vote trading under spam or advertising.
• Scraping and interfering. The Terms bar crawling or scraping by software or by hand and interfering with how the Services work.
• Someone else's account. The archived Terms bar using another person's account without permission; the current Terms warn that sharing yours may let that person take control.
• Under-13 accounts. Wattpad Services are for people 13 and over; accounts run by someone younger, joint accounts included, are closed permanently.

Pen names and display names: do you need a second account? #

A pen name does not call for one. Wattpad's Account privacy page says you do not need to use your real name and may use an artistic pseudonym, and it suggests a pseudonym as a username for a more private profile. The username is unique and is what you log in with. The display name is a separate field shown under your profile picture; it need not be unique and can contain spaces.

On the web, change the username with your username menu, Settings, Change beside the username, then your new username and current password (6 to 20 characters, no special characters; once released it can be taken by someone else). Change the display name through My Profile, Edit Profile and the Full Name field. One caution: the Help Center's page on linking social accounts says signing up with Facebook puts a link to your Facebook profile on your Wattpad profile.

What happens when a rule is broken? #

How to stay inside the rules #

1. Treat one account per person as the default, and give any other account its own email and a clear purpose.
2. Use a pseudonym or display name when the aim is a different writing name.
3. Never post as Wattpad, its staff, Ambassadors, public figures or brands.
4. Keep passwords private. If you share an account anyway, follow the advice in shared Wattpad accounts for co-writers and teams.
5. Do not scrape or automate, and do not use Wattpad to advertise or run a business.
6. Re-read the Terms and Community Standards before big changes; they can be updated.

What if an account has been closed? #

1. Read the email sent to the linked address, checking spam.
2. If you closed it yourself, logging in again within six months reopens it, unless the username has been taken or the email is now linked to another account.
3. If Wattpad closed it for a violation and you are confident that was a mistake, file the Appeal Request, mindful of the six-month window.
4. Do not open a replacement to carry on. Wattpad's pages describe no route that involves a new account after a closure for a violation, and the copyright pages tie actions to the person behind the accounts.

Where ADSSPEED fits #

ADSSPEED does not change what Wattpad allows, and nothing in it makes a rule-breaking account acceptable. It is a Windows and macOS desktop app for managing many browser profiles, each with separate cookies, local data and browser settings. For people who run more than one account within Wattpad's rules, that keeps the sign-ins apart and tidy. Profile data stays on your own computer. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Wattpad.
