Can You Be Logged In to Two Imgur Accounts at Once on One Computer?
Can you be logged in to two Imgur accounts at once on one computer?
Not through anything Imgur documents. According to the pages read for this guide (Imgur's Terms of Service, Community Rules, Privacy Policy and apps page, read 3 October 2026), there is no account switcher, no stated limit on how many accounts you can sign in to, and no instruction for holding two accounts open in one browser. Two sign-ins stay open side by side when each sits in its own browser profile, Firefox container or browser, because each keeps its own cookies.
On a computer, Imgur means the website. The apps page lists an iPhone app and an Android app and describes no desktop app, so everything below is about imgur.com in a browser.
What do Imgur's own pages say about signing in?
Very little, so it helps to see what each page does and does not cover.
| Topic | What the page says | Page |
|---|---|---|
| One agreement | Use of the app or website falls under the Terms, the Community Rules and the Privacy Policy together | Terms of Service |
| Signing in and cookies | If cookies are blocked, you must type your username again at every login | Privacy Policy |
| Setting up an account | It starts with a cell phone number, and Imgur texts a code so it can check the number is yours | Privacy Policy |
| Protecting the account | You are expected to take every reasonable precaution to keep unauthorised people out | Privacy Policy |
| Usernames | A username is public by nature | Privacy Policy |
| Number of accounts | The Terms and the Privacy Policy state no limit; the Rules prohibit opening accounts again and again to get round a punishment or a restriction | Terms, Privacy Policy, Rules |
| Desktop app | Only an iPhone app and an Android app are listed | Apps page |
What is missing matters just as much. The three documents say nothing about switching accounts, how long a sign-in lasts, checks on a new device or location, or resetting a password, and they do not list sign-in options such as third-party accounts, so this guide describes none. For appeals and moderation questions the Rules page links to Imgur's help site. Sign-in problems themselves are covered in the login-problem guide.
How does one browser profile hold an Imgur sign-in?
The one mechanism Imgur's pages mention is the cookie. Chromium's documentation says each profile is a folder inside the user data directory that holds history, bookmarks and cookies, and Chrome Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate. Three things follow:
- One profile, one set of cookies. Cookies are stored per profile, so every tab in a profile uses the same imgur.com cookies. The pages read describe no way to keep two Imgur accounts signed in within one profile, so plan on one account per profile.
- A new profile starts empty. A second profile, or a second browser, has no Imgur cookies until you sign in, so it can hold a different account.
- Firefox containers. Mozilla describes containers as separating cookies and site storage, and says you can log in to several accounts on the same site. History and bookmarks are not separated between containers.
Which options give you two Imgur accounts open together?
| Option | Both accounts open together? | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Sign out, then sign in to the other account | No, one at a time | Nothing to set up, but you sign in again on every switch |
| Two different browsers, for example Chrome and Firefox | Yes | Quick to start; you must remember which browser holds which account |
| One Chrome or Edge profile per account | Yes | Each profile has its own cookies; the profiles guide covers naming, hand-over and backups |
| Firefox Multi-Account Containers | Yes | One container per account inside one window; history and bookmarks stay shared |
| The Imgur phone app | Not on a computer | The apps page lists iPhone and Android apps only |
Private windows and VPNs solve different problems; the comparison guide sets them beside profiles. If the term is new, what a browser profile is explains it.
How do you set up two Imgur accounts in Chrome?
- In Chrome, select Profile at the top right, then Add Chrome profile, and choose a name, photo and colour. Chrome Help says you may sign in with a Google Account in the profile, but you do not have to.
- Name the profile after the Imgur account it will hold, so you can tell the windows apart at a glance.
- Open imgur.com in that profile and sign in with the first account.
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 in a second profile for the second account. Do not sign in to a second Imgur account inside the first profile.
- Before you post, check which account the window is signed in to. A username is public by nature, so a mix-up is visible to other people.
- Leave cookies allowed for imgur.com in every profile.
In Edge the equivalent is the profile icon at the upper right, then Manage profile settings and Add profile.
What goes wrong when you run two Imgur accounts?
| What you notice | What the pages say | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Imgur asks for your username at every login | The Privacy Policy names blocked cookies as the reason | Allow cookies for imgur.com in that profile and check that nothing clears them |
| A picture went out from the wrong account | A username is public by nature | One account per profile, a clear profile name and a check before you post |
| One account has a warning or a suspension | The Rules describe removal and a warning, then a 24-hour suspension and a ban if breaches pile up | Read the Rules and appeal if you think the decision was wrong |
| A script or tool posts or votes for you | The Terms bar data mining, robots and scraping; the Rules name scripts or bots that behave harmfully or without being open about it | Stop using it |
| Someone else can open your computer | Keeping unauthorised people out of the account is your job | Sign out before you leave it, and never hand over a signed-in profile casually |
When two Imgur accounts still clash
- You cannot sign in at all. None of the three documents covers password resets or sign-in errors, so use Imgur's help site rather than guessing.
- An account is suspended or banned. The Rules offer an appeal at no charge through the Appeal Form. Do not open another account to carry on, because the Rules treat that as prohibited; the rules guide has the details.
- You only wanted to share one picture. The Terms let you upload anonymously and choose who you share the images with, so a second account may not be what you need. The page gives no steps, so confirm in Imgur's help site.
- Nothing helps. Ask Imgur through its help site and say which account and which browser profile are involved.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a Windows and macOS desktop app that manages many browser profiles. Every profile holds its own cookies, local data and browser settings, which lets accounts you manage stay signed in together without logging each other out, so you never have to sign out of one Imgur account to use another. You can open, stop and organise profiles in bulk, and the profile data stays on your own computer. It leaves Imgur's Rules exactly as they are. To get started, see installing ADSSPEED on Windows. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Imgur.
Frequently asked questions
Can two Imgur accounts stay signed in together on one PC?
The Terms of Service, Community Rules and Privacy Policy describe no account switcher and no sign-in limit. A browser profile keeps its own cookies, so the practical route is one browser profile, or one browser, for each account.
Is there an Imgur desktop app, or only the website?
Imgur's apps page links to an iPhone app and an Android app and describes no desktop app. On a computer you use the website in a browser, so a second account there needs its own browser profile or its own browser.
Can I use Imgur with no login?
The Terms of Service say you can upload images anonymously and limit who sees them to people you pick. The page gives no steps and does not say what an anonymous upload lets you do later, so check Imgur's help site before relying on it.
Is it fine for a team to share one Imgur password?
The pages read do not discuss sharing a login. The Privacy Policy puts the job of keeping unauthorised people out of your account on you, so treat a shared password, or a shared signed-in browser profile, as full access to the account.
Is my Imgur username public if I run two accounts?
The Privacy Policy says a username is public by nature, so a post made from the wrong account shows the wrong username. Name each browser profile after the account it holds and check which account a window is signed in to before you post.
