How to Keep Several Snapchat Accounts Apart on One PC With Browser Profiles
Can browser profiles keep several Snapchat accounts apart on one PC?
On the browser side, yes. A browser profile is a separate set of browsing data, so each Snapchat account can have its own profile and its own web sign-in. On Snapchat's side the rules stay as they are: its Help Center says Snapchat for Web can be signed in on only one computer at a time, and it describes device-level limits. A profile changes neither. The pages cited here were read on 3 October 2026 and show no update date.
For the wider picture of several accounts on a computer, see the multi-login guide, and for the basics of profiles see what a browser profile is.
What a browser profile separates, and what it does not
| Kept apart per profile | Source |
|---|---|
| Bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings | Chrome Help |
Profile data such as history, bookmarks and cookies, each profile in its own folder (default on Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data) | Chromium documentation |
| Browser permissions such as camera, microphone and notifications, which Snapchat says are changed in the browser's site settings | Snapchat Help Center; plan to check them in each profile |
| Not separated by a profile | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The computer and its network connection | Snapchat's network page ties blocks to the connection: spam, prohibited use or a VPN |
| Snapchat's account rules and device limits | The device errors are described for phones and tablets; the pages read do not explain how they apply to a computer |
| Anything you sync | Signing in to Chrome with a Google Account lets a profile save bookmarks, passwords and other settings to that account |
Firefox offers containers instead. Mozilla's wiki says a container gives the sites you visit a separate slice of storage (cookies, localStorage, indexedDB and caches), while history and bookmarks are not separated.
Set up one profile per account, step by step
- Open Chrome. At the top right select Profile, then Add Chrome profile. Edge has its own profile menu; follow its help for the exact steps.
- Choose a name, photo and colour scheme. Signing in to Chrome is optional. If you do, the profile takes the Google Account's name and can save bookmarks, passwords and other settings to that account, so use an account your business controls.
- In that profile's window go to web.snapchat.com and sign in with the Snapchat account that belongs to the profile. If you use Sign in with Google, pick the matching Google account: Snapchat signs you in when the Google email matches a verified Snapchat email, and creates a new account when it does not.
- Allow camera, microphone or notifications only if you need them, through the lock icon in the address bar in Chrome or Edge, or through Safari's site settings.
- Record the account's recovery details in your password manager: the email and phone on the account, the 2FA method and the recovery code (Settings, My Account, Two-Factor Authentication, Recovery Code, Generate Code).
- Repeat for each account and always open Snapchat from its own profile.
Name, hand over and back up
- Naming. Use a pattern such as Snap, brand, owner, and give each client its own colour. Never put a password or code in a profile name.
- Hand-over. Do not pass a profile or a password around. Give people a role or a Business Manager membership instead (business guide). If responsibility for an account moves within a company, change the password, check Session Management and update the contact details to ones the business controls. The Terms bar selling or renting access to an account.
- Backups. Chrome says removing a profile erases its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings from the computer. Before you delete one, keep the account's recovery code, passkey and contact details. Treat the profile folder as sensitive, since it holds cookies.
What Snapchat's own pages add
Snapchat says a login on another computer logs out the previous Snapchat for Web session, so two team members cannot keep one account open on two PCs. It also says an extra code usually appears when you log in "from a new or unrecognized device" and suggests trying a device or Wi-Fi network you have used before with the account. Opening each account from the same profile on the same computer each time fits that advice. It does not stop Snapchat from asking for a code. Session Management (accounts.snapchat.com) lists the devices and browsers signed in to an account, which helps at hand-over.
What if sign-in fails inside a profile?
- Run through Snapchat's troubleshooting tips: the latest Chrome, Edge or Safari, and the Snapchat app on your phone up to date and signed in to the same account.
- Check whether the same account is signed in on another computer. The newest login wins.
- If a new account appeared after Sign in with Google, you chose a Google account that matches no verified Snapchat email. Sign out and choose the right one.
- For codes, locks and device messages, read why Snapchat logs you out or asks for a code.
- If you are still stuck, use Snapchat's own support pages.
When separate profiles stop being enough
Manual profiles work well for a handful of accounts. As the number grows, creating, naming, opening and tidying profiles by hand takes time, and keeping notes in step with them takes more. That is where a tool built for many profiles helps. It makes the work easier; it does not change Snapchat's rules, and the Windows installation guide shows the first run.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles in one place. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so the accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. Use it only with accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Snapchat's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Snapchat.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use Snapchat on a computer?
Open web.snapchat.com in the latest Chrome, Edge or Safari and sign in. Snapchat says you can chat, call and take Snaps there, that Chrome and Edge can install it to the desktop, and that some features such as Memories and privacy settings are still app-only.
Why is the Snapchat web login not working?
The Help Center's tips are to use Chrome, Edge or Safari in the latest version, keep the Snapchat app on your phone up to date and signed in to the same account, and remember that only one computer can be signed in at a time. Camera, microphone and notification permissions are set in the browser's site settings.
Can you have two Snapchat accounts open on one computer?
Snapchat's pages do not describe a way to hold two accounts in one browser profile. A separate browser profile per account keeps the browser data apart, because Chrome keeps each profile's bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate. Snapchat's one-computer rule and device limits still apply.
Can you log in to Snapchat on the web with a QR code?
The Help Center pages read do not describe a QR code login. They describe signing in at web.snapchat.com, including a Sign in with Google choice, and their troubleshooting tips mention keeping the Snapchat app on your phone up to date and signed in to the same account. Follow what the login page itself offers.
What happens to a Chrome profile's data if I delete the profile?
Chrome's help says that after you remove a profile, its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings are erased from the computer. Save each account's recovery details, such as a recovery code or passkey, before you delete a profile.
