Keep Several SoundCloud Accounts Apart on One PC With Browser Profiles
How do you keep several SoundCloud accounts apart on one PC with browser profiles?
Give each account its own browser profile and sign in to only one SoundCloud account in it. Chrome Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation lists history, bookmarks and cookies among the data a profile holds, each profile being a subfolder of the user data directory, so a sign-in in one profile does not show up in another. Microsoft says each Edge profile keeps its own browsing history, bookmarks and other data.
That fits what SoundCloud says. According to its Help Center (read 3 October 2026), people who look after several accounts should use a separate incognito window or browser for each, and should stay signed in rather than signing in and out through the day. A profile does both: it is a separate place for the sign-in, and it keeps that sign-in between sessions. It does not change your computer, your connection or SoundCloud's rules. Read what a browser profile is first if the term is new.
What does a profile keep apart, and what does it not?
| Item | Chrome profile | Firefox container |
|---|---|---|
| Cookies and sign-ins | Separate per profile | Separate per container |
| History and bookmarks | Separate per profile | Not separated |
| Saved passwords | Separate per profile | Not separated, by design |
| Two SoundCloud accounts open side by side | Yes, in two profiles | Yes, in two container tabs |
| The computer and the internet connection | The same | The same |
The facts come from the Chrome, Chromium, Edge and Mozilla pages listed below. A Chrome Incognito window is different again: Chrome says its cookies are removed when all Incognito windows close, and that several Incognito windows continue one session, so it can hold one extra account, not one per window. How private windows and VPNs differ from profiles is covered in the comparison guide.
Set it up in Chrome or Edge
- Create the profile. In Chrome, select the Profile icon at the top right, then Add Chrome profile, and pick a name, photo and colour. In Edge, select the profile icon at the upper right, choose Manage profile settings, then Add profile.
- Decide on syncing. Chrome says signing in with a Google Account lets you keep bookmarks, passwords and settings in that account and reach them on other devices. For client work, decide whose Google Account that should be.
- Name and colour it so you never open the wrong one; a pattern is suggested below.
- Sign in to SoundCloud in that profile only, with the account's email address or profile URL and its password, or its connected Google, Facebook or Apple login.
- Stay signed in. The CAPTCHA page says regular signing in and out on the same day is what brings the CAPTCHA.
- Check the result. Open the profile page and confirm it is the account you meant.
- Repeat for each account. Do not sign in to a second account in the same profile.
In Firefox, the Mozilla wiki describes containers that keep cookies, localStorage, indexedDB and caches apart inside one window. You open a container tab from the File menu or from a link's right-click menu. History and bookmarks are not separated.
What is SoundCloud-specific about it?
- Browser versions. The Technical requirements page lists Chrome 109, Firefox 121, Edge 121, Safari 17 and Opera 106 or newer.
- Extensions and VPNs. The Help Center names extensions or plug-ins, a VPN, ad-blockers and privacy extensions among the things that can cause sign-outs or sign-in blocks. Each profile has its own extensions, so check them in the profile that has the problem.
- Clearing data. The Help Center's profile troubleshooting page lists clearing the cache and cookies. Do that only in the one profile that misbehaves.
- The Desktop Player. The Help Center says you install it from soundcloud.com in Chrome, Brave or Edge after logging in. It does not say how the player behaves with several browser profiles, so check which account it opens with.
- 2FA and alerts. Each account has its own authenticator entry and its own primary email for sign-in alerts. Note both next to the profile name.
Naming, hand-over and backups
Naming. Put the brand first, then the profile URL, then the owner, for example ACME / soundcloud.com/acme / Linh, and give each client a colour.
Hand-over. SoundCloud treats the owner of the sign-up email address as the account owner, so hand access over through that ownership and, for artist accounts, the Access tab in SoundCloud for Artists, as the team access guide explains. Do not pass a profile between people. Chrome Help says deleting a profile erases its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings from the computer, so sign out of SoundCloud in it first.
Backups. Two different things need saving:
- The audio you uploaded. The Terms of Use advise saving or backing up uploaded material before an account is terminated, and say SoundCloud cannot provide a file of data about account activity. Keep your original files.
- The profile folder. Chromium's documentation says profile data such as history, bookmarks and cookies lives in the user data directory; on Windows the Chrome default is
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data. Treat any copy like a password, because it holds cookies.
When ordinary profiles are not enough
| Signal | Why it hurts | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| More than a handful of accounts | Names and colours stop being enough to avoid opening the wrong profile | A tool that opens, stops and organises profiles in bulk |
| Several people use one computer | Profile folders hold cookies | Separate operating-system users, or the Access tab instead of shared profiles |
| A task needs a phone app | SoundCloud lists Android 8 and iOS 16.4 or later for mobile, and a browser profile cannot run an app | An Android phone profile; see what an Android phone profile is |
No setup changes what SoundCloud's rules allow or how SoundCloud treats an account.
If a profile misbehaves
- You are signed out whenever the browser closes. Check whether the browser clears cookies on exit, then read why SoundCloud keeps signing you out.
- The wrong account is in the wrong profile. Sign out, sign in with the right one and rename the profile.
- A new account appeared by accident. Read the multi-login guide; SoundCloud does not merge accounts.
- A CAPTCHA keeps returning. Stay signed in, and check the profile's extensions and any VPN, which the Help Center names as causes.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. Android phone profiles, each with its own device configuration, run mobile apps on a PC. Setup is in installing ADSSPEED on Windows. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with SoundCloud.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use multiple profiles on SoundCloud on one computer?
SoundCloud has no profile switcher in the pages read, so the practical route is a browser profile per account. Create one in Chrome or Edge, sign in to a single SoundCloud account in it and stay signed in. Chrome says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate.
Is there a SoundCloud multiple accounts extension?
The Help Center pages read mention no extension for this. They name extensions and plug-ins as a cause of sign-outs and suggest switching them off while troubleshooting. Chrome and Edge profiles are built into the browser and need no extension.
Do separate Chrome profiles keep SoundCloud sign-ins apart?
For the sign-in itself, yes: Chromium's documentation lists history, bookmarks and cookies among the data a profile holds, and each profile is a subfolder of the user data directory, so a login in one profile does not appear in another. Profiles do not change the computer or the internet connection.
Why does SoundCloud show a CAPTCHA when I switch accounts?
The Help Center says that if you regularly sign in and out of your account on the same day, SoundCloud will probably ask for a CAPTCHA, and it suggests staying signed in. A separate profile or browser per account lets each account stay signed in instead of being switched.
Can I use incognito windows for two SoundCloud accounts?
The Help Center suggests incognito windows or multiple browsers for each account. Chrome says several Incognito windows share one session and that cookies are removed when all of them close, so an Incognito window holds one extra account and signs it out afterwards.
