Can You Stay Logged In to Two Weibo Accounts on One Computer? What Weibo Documents
Can you stay logged in to two Weibo accounts on one computer?
Weibo's Help Center documents account switching only for its mobile client: Settings, then Account management (账号管理), where you can add an account, tap a listed account to switch to it, or exit the current one (page updated 10 January 2025). For computers it says to open weibo.com in any browser, with no application to download (page updated 11 March 2026), and none of the pages read describes a switcher on the website.
This article rests on Weibo Help Center pages at kefu.weibo.com and on Weibo's Terms of Service, all read on 3 October 2026. They are written in Chinese, so each menu name is given once in Chinese with a translation. Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Weibo's rules. More guides for the platform are on the Weibo guides page.
What Weibo documents, surface by surface
| Where | What the Help Center says | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile client | Settings > Account management: add an account (添加账号), tap an account in the list to switch, or exit the current account (退出当前账号) | The only account switcher the pages describe |
| Website, weibo.com | Open it in any browser. After a password sign-in on a computer Weibo may ask for an SMS code, a private message code or a scan from a signed-in Weibo account | No switcher on the website is described |
| QR scan sign-in | A signed-in mobile device can scan to log in to the web version (page updated 13 January 2025) | Frequent scanning has its own restriction, see below |
| Weibo Lite and Weibo Intl | The international app's Chinese-region edition was renamed Weibo Lite (微博轻享版); the overseas English listing keeps the name Weibo Intl | The page gives no multi-account details |
On the mobile app, Weibo's sign-in page (updated 10 January 2025) lists three ways in: an SMS code sent to the account's login phone, a login name (an email or a phone number) with a password, and authorisation through WeChat, QQ or Apple ID. A phone without the WeChat or QQ app shows no authorisation button for it (page updated 25 June 2026).
The phone-number rule behind every multi-account setup
On its page about login phones (updated 13 January 2025), Weibo says each phone number can be used to verify up to five accounts, and that a number can be the login phone of only one account. A number not marked as a login phone can only confirm identity. In practice, plan one login phone per account you manage, held by someone you trust. On a computer you can check it under Settings, then Account security (账号安全), then Phone number (手机号码). For numbers from other countries or regions, Weibo's English sign-up page says to register on the Weibo app. The wider rules are in the rules article.
Several accounts on one network: what Weibo says
Weibo's page on too-frequent sign-in prompts (updated 26 June 2026) says that logging in many times in a short period, or signing in to several Weibo accounts from the same IP address, may be treated as malicious. It advises against this and says to try again after a while. Two error pages are more specific: code 4076 means Weibo's system flagged an IP as a security risk and disabled it for two hours, and codes -4078 and -4080 come from frequent QR scanning and restrict the network's IP range for 30 minutes. Both lift on their own.
The practical reading: sign in to each account once, stay signed in, and do not sign out and in repeatedly or scan codes in quick succession. The pages give no threshold.
Options for two or more accounts on one computer
| Option | Rests on | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| One browser profile per account | Chrome Help: a profile keeps bookmarks, history, passwords and settings separate; Chromium docs list cookies as profile data | Each account still needs its own phone for checks. See the browser profiles article |
| The mobile client's account manager | Weibo Help Center | Phone only |
| One account per person and per computer | Ordinary use of the website | Needs more computers |
| Official helper roles for a brand | Weibo's co-administrator and super administrator features, and certified enterprise accounts | Narrow scope, see the business article |
| Auto-login or automation software | Not an option: the Terms (clause 4.5) bar automated behaviour without Weibo's written permission | See the rules article |
A profile separates data, not your internet connection. What a browser profile is explains the difference.
Before you add a second account: a 5-step check
- Confirm each account has its own login phone that you control, and note which number belongs to which account.
- For each account, open recent login records (最近登录记录) on a computer under Settings, then Account security, to see where it is signed in.
- Decide where each account lives, one profile per account, and name the profile after the account so they cannot be mixed up.
- Sign in to one account at a time with the check Weibo offers, an SMS code or a scan from that account's phone, and wait before starting the next.
- Record who owns each account, its login phone and its recovery contact.
If sign-in is refused or a session disappears
- A too-frequent prompt: stop retrying and wait a while, as the Help Center advises.
- Code 4076 or -4078 and -4080: the restriction lifts by itself after two hours or 30 minutes. Weibo asks you to be patient.
- Forced logout while signed in: Weibo says it can mean the account hit an unsafe situation. Sign in again and change the password (page updated 8 June 2026).
- A check you cannot complete: read the sign-in checks article.
- Still stuck: message @微博客服 or call the hotline listed on the Help Center pages, 4000960960.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a Windows and macOS desktop app that keeps many browser profiles in one place. Each profile holds its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so every Weibo account you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing the others out. You can open, stop and organise profiles in bulk, and the profile data stays on your own computer.
Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Weibo's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Weibo.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download a Weibo app for PC?
Weibo's Help Center says that on a PC you open https://weibo.com in any browser and that no application needs to be downloaded (page updated 11 March 2026). The pages read do not describe a separate desktop app.
How does Weibo QR code login work on a computer?
Weibo's pages say a mobile device that is already signed in can scan a QR code to log in to the web version. The computer sign-in check also lists scanning from a signed-in Weibo account as one of three options, next to an SMS code and a private message code.
Can I switch between two Weibo accounts?
The Help Center describes switching in the mobile client: open Settings, then Account management, add an account and tap an account in the list to switch to it. No switcher is described for the website, so on a computer each account needs its own browser profile or its own computer.
Can I use one phone number for several Weibo accounts?
Weibo's Help Center (page updated 13 January 2025) says one phone number can verify at most five accounts, and that a number can be the login phone of only one account. Plan a separate login phone for each account you manage.
Is Weibo Intl the same app as Weibo?
A Help Center page updated 6 March 2026 says the international app's Chinese-region edition is now called Weibo Lite (微博轻享版) and that the overseas English listing keeps the name Weibo Intl. It does not explain how accounts carry across apps.
